Maryland decriminalized marijuana takes effect October 1, 2014

May 08, 2014 Maryland decriminalized marijuana takes effect October 1, 2014

Praised be all to all the people who toiled hard for so many years to get marijuana decriminalization passed in Washington, D.C. (apparently still waiting whether Congress will intervene) and Maryland.

Now, with the governor’s signature in mid-April, marijuana decriminalization takes effect in Maryland on October 1, 2014.

As much as decriminalization will not lead me to use marijuana, decriminalization is a critical step towards expanding everyone’s civil liberties and towards getting government and police further off our backs.

Neighboring Virginia, where I live and work, needs to get on board.
