When the New York Times says to eliminate marijuana as a federal crime
The New York Times last month joined in the ever-growing call for marijuana law reform, by insisting that any marijuana criminalization be left to the states, and not the federal government. The Times calls marijuana far less dangerous than alcohol.
In addition, on July 30, the Times’s Philip Boffey pointed out how much less harmful is marijuana than plenty of other drugs, even though marijuana is available in much higher potencies than decades ago.
The more that politicians see that their peers in other legislators and governments are not being unelected for supporting marijuana law reform, the more emboldened more lawmakers and government executives will be to join the continuing reform of marijuana laws.
