Homework Pays Off!

Jon is a bulldog. In a judicial system that treats each defendant as a cog in a factory, Jon researches all the inherent biases in the system and advocates zealously and passionately on his client’s behalf. In my case, due to Covid-19, I needed to wait 10 months for proper adjudication. Yet, at the outset, Jon advised me to do a long list of homework to help with my case (potential misdemeanors for DUI and reckless driving). I accomplished all of the homework as quickly as possible. At times, it felt as though the homework would not provide me with the outcome that I wanted – given how impersonal the court experience had been. Nonetheless, when the day came, Jon meticulously went through all of the homework, presented it in a holistic and systematic way, and negotiated an excellent outcome on my behalf (dropped charge; substantial charge/penalty reduction on the other). The judge openly noted how impressive the homework was, and he went further noting that my counsel was outstanding. I couldn’t agree more. At times, Jon can come off brusquely or hurried, but he is always on his game when the day in court arrives. And that bulldog approach is precisely what makes him effective. He single-handedly helped me out of a situation I didn't think was winnable

If you are here, I was in your shoes not too long ago and looking for a lawyer. I got a DUI and a felony drug charge with a marijuana vape pen in Prince William County, and I was sure my life was ruined, so I started looking at lawyers to try to salvage my situation as best as I could. Mr. Katz came recommended from a friend after looking and talking to 2 other lawyers, thank goodness I made the decision to go with him. He was very prompt in getting back to me (which was the most important thing to me), and we set up a meeting to go over what had happened. I noticed when I visited him that he knew what he was doing and would not bullshit me in any way and would try to get the best possible outcome. We shook hands and he gave me homework. I will emphasize that the homework is THE MOST important thing you can do to help yourself. The court date came and as nervous as I was, Mr. Katz came in very confident and that put me at ease. He consulted with me, then talked to the PA for a good 5-10 minutes but it felt like a lifetime to me, and came back all smiles. I got the best possible outcome for anyone in my position. I figured I would get the DUI so that was expected, but I was really concerned about the felony drug charge because I was originally looking at 1 to 10 years. This madman somehow got it dropped to a disorderly conduct and no probation for anything. To say I was relieved is an understatement, he single-handedly helped me out of a situation I didn’t think was winnable. I would definitely recommend Mr. Katz to anyone because I know for a fact he will work hard to get the best possible outcome for you. Mr. Katz if you are reading this, I cannot thank you enough for what you did for me and I’m definitely grateful for all of your service and I’ll recommend everyone I know to you!
